Local, Local, Local

Lake Hospital System made every effort to use local contractors and subcontractors for the construction of TriPoint Medical Center as a way to strengthen its relationship with the building and contracting industries.

  • Mentor-based JTO, Inc., is the contractor for the site work and was selected because of its long history as a recognized heavy-construction specialist that can provide quality workmanship and meet deadlines with economical results.
  • Amthor Steel, located in Erie, Pennsylvania, was selected to provide the structural steel.
  • Independence Excavating is responsible for the concrete work.
  • VIP Masonry in Cleveland will supply the masonry work.
  • Bedford-Heights-based Doan Pyramid is the electrical contractor.

Prior to the start of construction, Lake Hospital System held a job fair at Auburn Career Center in an effort to attract additional local subcontractors and suppliers required for smaller projects within the construction scheme. More than 100 attended the job fair and met with prime contractors.

Lake Hospital System and Gilbane Building Co., the project construction manager, are dedicated to maximizing Minority Business Enterprise and Female Business Enterprise subcontractors and suppliers, in accordance with the MBE/FBE Act, throughout the project.

  • Mac Mechanical, a woman-owned, minority fire-protection company in Euclid was selected for the installation of sprinkler, suppression and alarm systems through TriPoint Medical Center.
